Frequently asked questions

I wrote my text myself and only used AI to polish it. Why does it mention AI?

Polishing changes the surface of your text, and surface patterns are part of what any detector measures. That is why HalluSpot reports a level of AI involvement instead of a yes-or-no accusation, and why “possible AI assistance” is a separate result from “likely AI-generated.” Many institutions allow AI-assisted editing; if yours does, a “possible AI assistance” result is consistent with your own writing plus polishing.

Does a “Likely AI-generated” result prove a text was written by AI?

No. Detection is pattern-matching, not proof. Results should be read together with the highlighted sentences and in the context of the applicable policy.
